Another John Templeton Foundation grant is seeking to weave together faith and sciences by bringing scientists and homileticians together to see in what ways science can be included in preaching.

The “Preaching with the Sciences” program has posted five webinars so far, including lectures from astronomer Grace Wolf-Chase and neuroscientist Michael Spezio.

According to the group, the scientists will offer guidance to the homileticians who will draft outlines for preaching key Sundays and feast days across the three-year lectionary cycle. The goal is to produce these free resources for preachers seeking help in crafting sermons. The project seeks to shape a “scientifically informed religious imagination among future preachers” as well.
