Susan is an author with a long-time interest in religion and science. She currently edits Covalence, the Lutheran Alliance for Faith, Science and Technology’s online magazine. She has written articles in The Lutheran and the Zygon Center for Religion and Science newsletter. Susan is a board member for the Center for Advanced Study of Religion and Science, the supporting organization for the Zygon Center and the Zygon Journal. She also co-wrote Our Bodies Are Selves with Dr. Philip Hefner and Dr. Ann Pederson.

This month, we return to our coverage by Margaret Schott of a conference she attended last summer in the UK, which brought together sociologists to discuss research regarding beliefs held about religion and science. She gives us a glimpse into the powerful presentations from scholars all over the world.

We also remember Stephen Hawking with a special poem from professor of systematic theology emeritus at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago Phil Hefner.

Last, but not least, the Lutheran Alliance for Faith, Science and Technology is gathering with similar organizations housed within other denominations at the annual Ecumenical Roundtable meeting, which this year will feature a lecture on “Faith, Facts and Truthfulness: Science, Technology and the Churches in an Age of Truthiness.”

Visit our calendar for more upcoming events between now and July. Are there any faith and science related events in your area or within your congregation? Let us know!
