The Clergy Letter Project will be celebrating Evolution Weekend on February 11 through 13, 2022 in a bid to engage congregations in faith and science.

The weekend is set around Charles Darwin’s birthday each year and, according to Clergy Letter Project Founder Michael Zimmerman, is an opportunity to raise the quality of discourse about the compatibility of religion and science.

Founded as “Evolution Sunday” in 2006, the weekend has meant everything from special sermons, guest speakers and public faith and science events. The Clergy Letter Project has collected over 17,000 clergy signatures over the years as a public demonstration of support for science.

The theme of the 2022 event is “The Pandemic, Climate Change and Evolution: How Religion and Science, Working Together, Can Advance Our Understanding.” More information can be found at the Clergy Letter Project website.
